My Favourite Lies and Other Project Stories

A good story can go a long way when driving your project towards a positive outcome. You can use stories to explain complex concepts, build comradery, inspire people into action, and make the project goals palpable and real.

But tales have a tendency to grow taller to get the right reaction in a given situation. Where is the ethical line between narrativizing your experiences and spinning out a piece of fiction?

That’s what we explored in this special Ask Me Anything session with Courtney Johnston and Galen Low.

Leveraging their background as seasoned agency and consultancy project managers, Courtney and Galen put each other on the hot seat to answer questions from our community about their best (and worst) experiences using storytelling in their projects.

If you’re looking to start leveraging storytelling in your management style, or even if you just want to pick up a few anecdotes you can use in your projects, this is an AMA you should check out.

You’ll leave with a solid sense of the do’s and don’ts of storytelling, some ideas for building your story library, and possibly a bit of soreness from laughing so hard.
